SEVERAL PEOPLE ARRESTED ON NARCOTICS CHARGES; DRUGS AND TWO HANDGUNS SEIZED
(10/2/2006) NEW HAVEN – Officers made eight arrests last night following their surveillance of a residence at 99 Kensington Street in the Dwight/Chapel neighborhood. Five juveniles and three adults were arrested and $900 in cash, 107 packets of crack cocaine, one revolver and one semi-automatic pistol were seized.
Kevin Wilson, 21, of 99 Kensington Street, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of a school, sale of a narcotic substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school and criminal possession of a weapon.
James Murphy, 18, of New Haven was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school, sale of a narcotic substance and carrying a pistol without a permit, as was a 16-year-old man from Waterbury.
A 17-year-old New Haven man who jumped out the second floor window was brought to the Hospital of Saint Raphael with non-life threatening injuries. He has not yet been charged.
The remainder of those involved were charged with narcotics and weapons charges.
